"This makes no sense - you're going to do all this work and then just give the flowers away!?"
This was the response from an eleven year old when we told him what we are doing (we won't tell you that it was our son). He's right really. It's a bit crazy. Growing flowers requires a lot of hard work. But we're finding what's logical isn't always what's best. Our culture says up and to the right is the only way to practice business. But we're exploring the idea of trying out down and to the left. We are seeking to make "love your neighbor" more than something to just agree with - it's something we're hoping to live out - through flowers.
When we look at the brilliant color and intricate designs of a flower, we are moved in the unseen place. Flowers are a creative art form that reaches into the imagination and draws out wonder. Sometimes that can mean more than any words. We want to offer that as a small gift of love to you, our neighbors.
We are a family in the heart of Charlotte, NC. We grow "local". So local, in fact, that it's 100 feet from our backdoor. We utilize biodynamic, organic, no-spray practices. We enjoy growing stuff and don't want to keep it all to ourselves. We plan to keep doing it as long as it's fun. We hope you'll join in the fun with us!
We're inspired by a woman who gave extravagantly from her alabaster jar. We hope that each of our ambitions helps to serve another one. That's why we give 20% of any purchases to local, national and international non-profit organizations. Some of the organizations that align with our heartbeat include project658, love does, charity water, compassion international, and international justice mission.
